Mr. Leon Visits High Schools

Mr. Leon Visits High Schools – This month, Mr. Leon had the opportunity to go to Niles, MI and encourage the kids who are graduating. He was their keynote speaker for their Baccalaureate and he also did an assembly for the whole school

YOU CAN BEGIN AGAIN is the fruit of our labor with the youth.  When Mr. Leon, started the S.I.N.G. Foundation, his goal is to mentor kids to influence other kids for the better. Most of the songs on this album were written with that in mind. Rise Above the Bullying, Jam!, My Family, The Sky Is The Limit, When You Believe, You Can Begin Again—are just a few examples of songs whose words are aimed to sow seeds that would positively affect other people’s lives. This whole album is for everyone who is looking for hope and encouragement. It was done with a God given mantra, that whatever your state in life—YOU CAN BEGIN AGAIN.

It’s going to be one of those experiences in an album that will last you for many years to come and not only will your kids like it but your grandkids will like it as well.

The CD will be available to the public March 1, 2014. For more info, call 702-992-0508 or email mrleon@mrleon.org.

Mr. Leon Encouraging Kids at Lake Mead Christian Academy

This is Mr. Leon’s first attempt to test PS 23 with the kids at Lake Mead Christian Academy. He was invited by Pastor David from Green Valley Baptist Church whose children, Connor and Chloe are students of the school. Mr. Leon talked about his career and how essential it is to have one but at the same time, there is something more vital than one’s profession. He brought his first Gold album and gave the students a choice between Gold and Soul and explained why one is more essential to have than the former. The students were so thrilled at the event and many received the call for salvation.

2INSPIRE 2013 Talent Contest!

2iNSPIRE Talent Contest Rules

(Postponed to a later date)

Sponsored by Leon S.I.N.G. Children’s Foundation, Findlay Toyota

and Richard A. Susie & Associates

CONTEST OBJECTIVE – The main goal of S.I.N.G. is to inspire people and bring hope and encouragement to others. This is the main reason why we have the 2inspire Talent Contest. The judges will look not just for talent but for the content of your presentation and audience participation. They will base their decision on your Vocal Ability, Stage Presence and Overall Performance. Profanities, sexual innuendos, or distasteful presentation will be grounds for automatic disqualification. However, if you chose a popular song which has offensive lyrics but were able to change them to reflect a more constructive theme, it would be considered a PLUS to the judges.

By entering this Contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Any violation of these rules may result in disqualification. ALL DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES REGARDING THIS CONTEST ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL RESPECTS.

Auditions will be held at 1 pm at Findlay Toyota, 7733 Eastgate Road, Henderson, NV 89011.

6. SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION.  Three (3) semi-finalists will be selected at the end of each audition. The remaining contestants who did not win will have a chance to compete again the next month for half the fee ($12.50). At the end of the audition period, the semi-finalists will compete and three (3) finalists will be chosen to vie for the first prize.

7. CRITERIA – Winners will be judged according to three different criteria: Stage Presence, Vocal Ability and Overall Performance.

8. MAIN EVENT – The main event will be held in Las Vegas Nevada on May 4 or June 1, 2013 depending on the number of contestants. Each finalist will be given up to 3 minutes to perform. The winners will be announced after all the participants have performed.

9. FFCA – Friends and Family Choice Awards – as part of our goal to teach kids how to market themselves, to create EXTRA EXCITEMENT to our contest and to help SING with all our children’s projects, we have added a category called Family and Friends Choice Awards where each contestant could ask their friends and relatives to vote for them.

Each vote is worth a dollar, so if a relative wants to cast 50 votes, it’ll be $50, 100 votes – $100. Votes can be made by going to www.mrleon.org/ffca and clicking on the picture of the contestant of their choice and following instructions. Votes can be paid by credit card, PayPal, checks or cash.

Each contestant will get 10% of their total votes.

Ex: If Mary has 100 votes, she will make $10, if she has 200 votes, she will make $20. This will teach the kids to market themselves.

The rest of the money will go into a pool—-60% will go to SING and 40% will be divided between 3 winners (the ones who have the most votes) who will get 20%, 12% and 8%, respectively. So, if the total pool was $5000, the first prize winner will get an extra $1000, 2nd – $600 and 3rd – $400. (Proceeds that go to SING will be used for other projects and to sponsor qualified but financially challenged kids.)

Each participant will be asked to send a picture a short bio and a link (YouTube or others) to a previous performance if any. Then, we will have a Vote Now! Button and the process from there is self explanatory. They can vote once or 5 times or 100 times all at once. We suggest a minimum of 5 votes to avoid extra transaction fees from PayPal J

For more info, go to www.mrleon.org/ffca. The contestants can even invite their Facebook friends or other social media friends to vote!

SING’s Directors and Staff will also promote the contest to our social media friends.

This will be an added treat to the finals and will keep the kids engaged with the ShowBiz Industry.

Mr. Leon Records HIGHER PURPOSE A Song Dedicated to the Families and Friends of Newtown, CT

Proceeds from the Song to Benefit the Affected Families of Newtown

In light of the tragic incident in Newtown, Conn., Mr. Leon was moved to write, perform and produce “Higher Purpose”, a song composed to encourage and comfort the families of the victims of the horrendous tragedy that took the lives of innocent children and impacted families across the country.

Yes, it is a shame but it was not in vain
There’s a higher purpose for we who remain.
I feel them everywhere like angels in the air,
Saying, “Get on with your purpose, in my name.”

Download and add to cart below and help us spread the word. Let this song be a reminder that we need to prioritize the safety of our children.

“Our prayer is for everyone who hears this song to become more aware of the ongoing need to monitor our children. It will also remind parents and school officials to maintain participation in the protection of kids at their school, which should be one of the safest place for our children.” says Mr. Leon about the CT tragedy.

The main goal of S.I.N.G. (Sowing Into Next Generation), is to create a better future for our kids and grandkids thru music and the arts and let us tell you – we have talented kids!  Each of our winners want to be a role model and to inspire people, bring hope and encouragement to others.   At the contest, each kids walked away with cash from their percentage of votes from their Family and Friends Choice Awards.  We had 5 vocalists and 3 dance groups for our finalists.  They are currently working on their songs for the CD Project and area performances. We have also been able to sponsor 2 kids in vocal and dance coaching.

In our Vocal part of the competition our winners were: Joey Mecili who was accompanied by his brother Chazz, who rocked the house and were the top winners of the Family & Friends Choice Awards.  Joining him was Ricky Susie, Jazzy Cadiente, Sophia Ramos and Lauretta Williams.

In our Dance portion of the competition our winners were:  Erica & Kaylie Sackett, Jasmyne Densley and Kassiday Barton who all dazzled us with their moves!

We will mentor these kids and train them to be positive role models. We believe in this upcoming generation and feel both a calling and a responsibility to invest in these young lives.  This is the main reason why we have the 2INSPIRE Talent Contest.

Joyful Noise! Actually – Joyful Music!

Findlay Toyota hosted the 2nd music audition, in their showroom.  Even though this was an audition, to the customers, Findlay Staff and parents, it seemed like a Broadway production.  This Event was FFF (Festive, Fun, and FABULOUS!).  We had another great opportunity to expose our audience to the vision and mission of S.I.N.G., and to other parents who may have talented kids and show them an avenue to pursue their talent and possibly be influenced to be a positive role model for other kids.  We are looking forward to more auditions in August to lead the way to the Big Event in October!  See you at the top!

The Sound of Music

Tony Lindsay, SANTANA’s lead singer, honored our first audition by agreeing to be one of our judges. He definitely enjoyed himself as he listened to the future stars like him. Eighteen (18) young people came to showcase their talents, and yes, they HAVE talent!  As the music floated down the stairs to the dealership showroom, each of the Findlay staff excitedly made their way up the stairs to sneak a peek to listen to the kids, and they were NOT disappointed.  They were so impressed with the talent that the Marketing Director decided to host the next audition in the main showroom.

We had another opportunity to share the S.I.N.G. vision, this time with the parents.  A number of them were so excited about S.I.N.G. they decided to get involved and volunteer with the Foundation.  We are thrilled to have them as valuable team members!

SING-Co De Mayo

SING-CO De Mayo was S.I.N.G. Foundation’s very first FUN-Raiser.  We invited a number of influential individuals from the Las Vegas Community.  We had business owners, doctors, School Superintendents and more in attendance.  Mr. Leon shared with them his heart and vision for the S.I.N.G. Project, and this group was excited about the vision and very supportive financially.

They were entertained by a couple of S.I.N.G. Kids and the guests loved their beautiful voices. They were happy to see how influential these kids could be just with a little bit of mentoring.

We look forward to more FUN-Raisers like this in the future!
