Chaize Macklin

Family & Friends Choice Awards

Hi my name is Chaize Macklin and I am 13 years old and I am a singer/songwriter.  I have been surrounded by music my whole life!  I love diversified music, such as Reggae, Creole and Zydeco music.  I am on a musical mission to become a youth change agent and influencer creating words that will spark transformation for my Generation through my music and songs.  I am an advocate against bullying and wrote “R-U-A-Hater” to empower youth to stand strong in the face of a bully, and embrace their inner everyday-swag.

In 2011, I lost a classmate to a reckless driver who was distracted. I turned my grief into inspiration and wrote the song “Don’t Text Me,” that highlighted the dangers of driving and texting. I was featured on CBS Las Vegas singing an A cappella clip of “Don’t Text Me,” and with my other song “R-U-A-Hater” I am gaining strong fan following nationwide. I want to inspire people through the messages of my music and empower teens. I am working towards perfecting my craft to be an overall performer. My next upcoming song, which will be called, “A Dime Ain’t a Thing” will highlight the neglect and suffering of homeless people.
